The City of Perth, in conjunction with Screenwest, is proud to present Western Waves, a season of Western Australian feel-good feature length film, short film and musical performances.
There is something uniquely satisfying in seeing our stories and our landscape projected back at us from the screen. A theme that permeates many of the films selected is the nature of our striking landscape, not only as a backdrop but also as a protagonist, which in its harshness and beauty inspires many stories. The iconic humbling humour that has become a hallmark of our identity shines through in these delightful films, which represent only a slice of the diversity of Western Australia and the experiences of its people.
