Masterclass: Ostrich Feather Fan Making with Poppy Cherry

Learn the technical side of both making and maintaining burlesque ostrich feather fans with resident Fan Dance instructor Poppy Cherry!

In this hands-on practical workshop aimed at both the budding and exerienced fan dancer, Poppy will guide you through:
- How to build your own pair of ostrich feather fans using plastic staves, hardware and ostrich feathers.
- How to maintain, store and transport your feather fans to ensure longevity and a fluffy plumage.
- How to repair common fan injuries and breakages.

We highly encourage all students to bring fan supplies so that Poppy can assist you with getting started making your own fans. Please note that making fans is a time consuming process and we do not expect you will finish a full set during the workshop.

What to bring:
- Please bring all your own supplies (feathers, staves & hardware)
- Please bring a pair of craft/jewellery pliers.

Upon signup Poppy will email a list of recommended places to buy ostrich feathers & staves.

You are required to bring your own fan staves. We have organised a discount code with Sterling Staves for workshop enrolments. Please email info@maisonburlesque.com.au for their discount code before ordering from them. Cut off would be the 14th of March for postage to arrive in time for the 5th of April from Brisbane. Sterling Staves are also happy to combine postage if students want to share the costs.
